CHENNAI: Several leaders, including PMK founder S Ramadoss, condoled the demise of Shanmugasundarathammal (99) elder sister of DMK chief M Karunanidhi and the mother of late Murasoli Maran, on Wednesday.
The DMK has announced three-day mourning and the public meeting of party treasurer MK Stalin in Madurai has been cancelled. Shanmugasundarathammal’s body will be cremated at Besant Nagar on May 21, a party release here said. Karunanidhi, other family members and leaders of the DMK, paid their last respects to her, it added.
