CHENNAI: A fire broke out in an air condition plant at the airport here on Tuesday, but no one was injured in the incident, police said.
Police said smoke was noticed from the A/C plant located near Bay No.28 in the international terminal around 9.30 pm and a fire broke out soon.
Three fire tenders stationed at the airport were immediately pressed into service and the personnel put out the fire in about 30 minutes. None was injured.
Though there were no flights in Bay No.28 and 29, two international flights were parked in Bay No.30 and 31, police said.
An electrical short circuit was stated to have caused the fire, they added.
