In Solidarity with HIV Affected

CHENNAI:Over 70 people living with AIDS participated at an event held at the Institute of Child Health (ICH), Egmore, in order to express solidarity with those who lost their lives to the disease. The event, which was organised by Vihaan Care & Support, was held on International Candlelight Day and was themed ‘Supporting the future’. Speaking on the occasion, Rama Pandian, project director,  Tamilnadu Network of Positive People, claimed that the Global Network for Positive (GNP) was the first organisation to initiate the International Candlelight Memorial Day observation globally in 1992. He stressed that all PLHIV patients ought to disclose their status in order to avail many benefits from the government.
