Umapathi of Voltech Group Awarded for Vocational Excellence

CHENNAI:The Rotary Club of Chennai Velachery honoured M Umapathi   — Chairman & Managing Director – Voltech Group with the prestigious Vocational Excellence Award 2015 for his outstanding contribution in the field of engineering, on Sunday.

The function was presided by DGN PHF Rtn Natarajan  Nagoji and Rtn P H F Praba Padmanaban (Director Vocational Service).

Umapathi is the first generation entrepreneur from his family who started Voltech Group way back in year 1995 and today at the end of almost two decades, Voltech  is  the leader and pioneer in the field of Testing & Commissioning Services with over 3,000 employees. The Voltech Group also diversified in the manufacturing field over the last eight years and started the manufacturing of power and distribution Transformers,  HT/LT Switchgears, CR Panels, relays and electronic products supplied to various utilities all over India.

Also, Voltech has eight branches in India and 18 offices all over world. The company provides employment opportunities to almost 200 to 250 engineers every year. The company is also involved in various CSR activities like organ and blood Donation, and recently, has adopted a village named Vazhur in the Thiruvannamalai District, Tamil Nadu to provide basic amenties like electricity, water, education and a hospital for a period of five years. During the award function, child prodigy Shriram Balaji also known as the ‘Date Prince’ (as he has the date and day for 5,000 years with ease) and Rtn V S Ravindran were also felicitated.
