IAF Paraglider Lands On Neem Tree

CHENNAI:An IAF woman officer narrowly escaped when the paraglider she was flying drifted off course due to heavy winds and landed on a neem tree after coming in contact with a live electric cable in a residential area at Tambaram on Wednesday.

Officer Mohana Chandrika suffered only minor burns in her legs.

Chandrika is a paraglider-trainer and was training 20 cadets around 6.15 am when the accident took place.

Residents of Adhi Nagar, located adjacent to the IAF campus, alerted the police but Air Force personnel rescued the officer before they could reach the spot.

Sources said the officer is out of danger and is recovering well.
