Sarath Warns Vishal Over Pudukai Talk

CHENNAI: A day after office-bearers of the Nadigar Sangam publicly had an altercation with actor Vishal during a programme organised at Pudukottai, Nadigar Sangam chief R Sarath Kumar publicly asked the young actor to stop criticising the cine body. In a statement, the actor-turned-politician said, “All issues pertaining to the construction of Nadigar Sangam’s new building were discussed when Vishal was present. Despite this, he has been criticising the Sangam during interviews and public meetings. I wish to tell him that such activities are not conducive for a trade body such as ours, and hope that he will watch his actions in the future.”

It is no secret that Vishal has been speaking out against the decisions made by the Nadigar Sangam (South Indian Film Artistes Association) officials, asking questions about why the new building was not built at their prime property in T Nagar. In January, he had even stated openly that if Sarath Kumar and company were unable to get the construction work underway, they should hand the reins over to him and his “friends and well wishers,” and they would handle it.

The Nadigar Sangam’s building-plans were thrown into jeopardy when former office bearer, Poochi Murugan slapped them with notices and managed to get a stay order, stopping the construction.
