CHENNAI: A day after the decomposed body of a young man was found in Mehta Nagar, two of the four roommates who allegedly conspired and murdered him were nabbed by the police.

Following complaint of foul smell, the Aminjikarai police on Thursday broke into the 2nd floor flat to find the highly-decomposed body of Sayed Saddam (21), with his limbs tied up and gruesome injuries to his head. The four who shared the apartment were absconding. The special police teams that were assigned to investigate the case and track down the suspects caught Sakthivel (25) and Vinoth (21) separately on Thursday and Friday, respectively.

According to police reports, Sakthivel, a childhood friend of the deceased from Vellore, stated that Sayed conned the four roommates of Rs 2 lakh with the promise of cheap Iphones. Following a complaint he lodged a few months ago at Nungambakkam police station, Sayed paid back Rs 90,000 but refused to pay the rest, leading to the murder.
