Rains Force Port Blair Bound AI Flight to Land in Chennai

CHENNAI: A Port Blair-bound Air India flight with 148 passengers was diverted here due to heavy rains in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands today.     

The flight could not land in Port Blair due to heavy rains and was hence diverted here where it landed by 5.40 pm, airport sources said.  

The passengers who are now in the airport would be accomodated in a hotel and would leave for Port Blair tomorrow, they added.
