CM's e-CTAX Total Solution for Dealers

Rs 180-crore facility will ensure annual returns by dealers are filed only online

CHENNAI:  Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa has launched the e-CTAX Total Solution Project for the Commercial Taxes Department designed at a cost of Rs 179.98 crore, with a view to improve  tax management and provide end-to-end solutions to the dealers. With this, filing of annual returns by dealers could be done only through online facility and not through any other means.

The new system will help the department to provide quality multi-channel online services to the mercantile public and also have a transparent tax administrative system, primarily focusing on arresting evasion, besides making processes simpler for the dealers and the department. Besides, all the Departmental functions will be automated, minimising dealers’ personal interface with the Department.

Through this system, all the 554 offices of the Commercial Taxes Department will be provided internet connectivity to ensure uninterrupted service and these computerised system is connected to the State Data Centre. All softwares required for this facility have been installed by the Tata Consultancy Limited. Services like registration certification, monthly returns, C Form and other declaration Forms, Check post services will be introduced online.

All applications needed for the traders, final assessment orders, announcements from the departments etc., will be available online.  Tax refund also can be availed online. For hassle-free movement of vehicles with goods, traders can register the goods

being transported through their vehicles, online. A round the clock toll free number - 18001036751 will be functioning from the State Service Centre through which the traders can get information regarding all services provided by the CT department.

Meanwhile, the Chief Minister also handed over eight jeeps brought at a cost of Rs 44.73 lakh to the CT department. Integrated Registration Department office built at Coimbatore and Dindigul, sub-registrar offices built at a total cost of Rs 12.2 crore in 20 places across the State and many other facilities for the CT department were inaugurated.

Digital Solution

■ Dealer Registration/ Modification to Registration shall be done only through new Portal

■  All the existing dealers and new dealers coming for registration shall signup in the new system with the individual mobile number and e-mail id. The mobile number and e-mail id shall be unique to the system

■  Dealers who have not provided their valid PAN shall update their valid PAN in the new system

■  Online filing of Returns and payment for Entry Tax has been introduced

■  Dealers will receive SMS / e-mail notification and can track the status

■  No cheque / Cash payment will be accepted at Assessment Circles for all remittances, including Registration Fees
