CM Announces Solatium

CHENNAI: Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa on Sunday announced solatium of Rs 1 lakh to the kin of victim who died in mysterious explosion and Rs 25,000 for the people who were hurt in the incident in Vellore district.

According to a press release, Jayalalithaa also conveyed her condolences to the family of the victim and also ordered for good treatment for the people who are admitted at a hospital here.

On Saturday a mysterious heavy object fell close to the building complex of a private engineering college in Bandurapalli village in Vellore district. In which a bus driver of the college Kamaraj suffered burn injuries and died on the spot. Sasi Kumar and Murali gardeners in the college and Santhosh, a student of the college suffered burn injuries.

The solatium was granted from chief minister’s relief fund.
