CHENNAI: The Shakti Foundation which was established in 1992 with the message ‘Heal the World’ is conducting its annual event, a fundraiser in aid of hospital equipment on February 13 at the Music Academy.
A concert by musicians Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, the first ‘trio’ music composers along with their group will be the main highlight of the evening. The musicians, who have been associated with the Shakti Foundation since 2000, will be crooning Bollywood chart busters.
The two-hour concert will start at 7pm and the profits of the event will be given towards the well-being of under privileged and persons with disabilities.
The motto of Shakti Foundation is ‘To Care, To Love, To Share’. The foundation aims to provide, among other, medicare for the rural underprivileged and the weaker sections of society, integration of people with disabilities into the mainstream, and also focus on a barrier-free environment by way of ramps and implementation of Rights of Persons with Disabilities Bill.
