CHENNAI: Two youth, who had gone to Marina Beach along with their friends, drowned. Venkateswaralu(26) and Rama Rao (25) from Andhra Pradesh lived in Pallavaram.
On Sunday, the had gone to Marina Beach with their friends and were swimming when the waves swallowed them.
Police said their friends and local fishermen tried to save them but failed. A few hours later, the bodies were washed ashore close to where they drowned.
The bodies were sent to Royapettah hospital for autopsy. Rama Rao was married and worked with a civic body, while Venkateswaralu was looking for a job.
