Ola mobile app taxi service has unveiled cheaper fares on Ola Share, a social ride-sharing platform at `6 per km. According to an Ola press release, Ola Share is a logical solution towards a greener environment and also a cheaper one with savings of up to 40% on fares for citizens. It is also apt considering the country is battling with severe traffic congestion.

Chennai is the fourth fastest growing market for Share after Bangalore, Delhi, and Mumbai, ahead of Hyderabad, Kolkata and Pune. Using Ola Share, users who travel on the same routes can now use the facility to share their cab rides with other users from social groups they are part of. A ride can now be shared by up to three people at any point in time.
