Now, Share an Ola Ride at Rs 6 per km

Customers can share a ride with up to three people in their social networks using Ola Share. This will save people 40% on their fares, said a press release

Ola mobile app taxi service has unveiled cheaper fares on Ola Share, a social ride-sharing platform at `6 per km. According to an Ola press release, Ola Share is a logical solution towards a greener environment and also a cheaper one with savings of up to 40% on fares for citizens. It is also apt considering the country is battling with severe traffic congestion.

Ishan Gupta, category head shared mobility said, “We are proud to bring mobility that is affordable and reliable, to our customers in Chennai at such fares. Chennai is the fourth fastest growing market for Share after Bangalore, Delhi, and Mumbai, ahead of Hyderabad, Kolkata and Pune. With long-term benefits for our cities being realised, Ola Share will play a major role in enabling our mission of mobility for a billion Indians.”

Using Ola Share, users who travel on the same routes can now use the facility to share their cab rides with other users from social groups they are part of. A ride can now be shared by up to three people at any point in time.
