CHENNAI: Five days after producer and managing partner of Vendhar Movies S Madhan allegedly went missing, city police have formed a special team on Thursday to trace him. On the same day, parents and college students filed a petition with the city Police Commissioner complaining that Madhan  had promised them college admission in the SRM group of institutions and, later, cheated them.

Madhan has been missing from May 29 and police have recovered a letter in which he has allegedly written he was leaving for Kasi to attain ‘samadhi’. However, many reasons are cited for his disappearance. On Wednesday, parents staged a protest at Parivendhar’s house in Valsaravakkam alleging that they were cheated of medical admission. Officials from the SRM group have also sought police protection.

On the same day, Madhan’s wife Sindhu lodged a complaint with the city Police Commissioner that she had suspicion over her husband’s disappearance. She said that Madhan had some misunderstanding with SRM group that could have led to the incident. She also pointed out that his car was found parked in the Chennai Airport last.

Police also said they had received a tip-off that Madhan was spotted in Delhi and Haridwar and so, a special team would be sent to trace him.
