Thanking voters, Jaya promises to implement many development works in constituency

CHENNAI: Profusely thanking voters of RK Nagar for re-electing her to the Assembly, Chief Minister and AIADMK general secretary J Jayalalithaa on Monday promised them to turn the constituency a model for development in Tamil Nadu.

“I will see to it that RK Nagar constituency stands first in development. I will make this constituency a model for the rest of Tamil Nadu by implementing many developmental projects,” Jayalalithaa said addressing a large number of people who had gathered all along her way.

Observing that she was overwhelmed by the love and affection showered on her whenever she came to this constituency, Jayalalithaa said, “I am moved by your reception....and  words fail to express my gratitude. But I won’t fail to show my gratitude in action by fulfilling what I have promised.”

“First, I thank you for making me the Chief Minister of the State for the sixth time...Again, I thank you for making me Chief Minister for a second consecutive term...and I thank you once again for electing me for a second time serve you.  The people of this constituency are permanently entrenched in my heart,” the AIADMK general secretary said and recalled that within an year of her election from RK Nagar, she had done whatever possible on the development front.

“In the May 16 election, I have made many electoral promises and on assuming the office, I have started implementing them one by one and I reiterate that I will fulfil all that I have promised,” she added.

AIADMK cadre and the public gave a warm reception to Jayalalithaa from her Poes Garden residence to RK Nagar constituency. Priests from various temples presented her with prasadams.
