CHENNAI: The six burglars who were arrested for the Watergate break in were former CIA operatives. Reporters Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein though limited in age and experience but unlimited in perseverance with the help of an FBI insider (Deep Throat) exposed the Watergate scandal which led to the resignation of President Nixon.
Even though the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA)was passed in 1966, it remained a toothless tiger. The public anger with the White House for lying to the people made the American Congress pass legislations that strengthened the FOIA act which was used by UFO researchers to unearth documents, letters and memos exchanged between high ranking generals and government officials, exposing the fact that the American government had been systematically and scientifically covering up the UFO phenomenon since the 1940s.
In 2011, Stephen Bassett founder of Paradigm Research Group and the first person to register himself as a lobbyist advocating UFO issues in Washington sent a disclosure petition to the White House, signed by 17,000 people which asked the US government “to formally acknowledge an extraterrestrial presence engaging the human race”.
In response, the White House issued a statement on November 4, 2011 stating, “The US government has no evidence that any life exists outside our planet, or that an extraterrestrial presence has contacted or engaged any member of the human race. In addition, there is no credible information to suggest that any evidence is being hidden from the public eye.”
Bassett’s effort is extraordinary when you consider the fact that for the first time we have the White House putting their position on paper, which when compared with all the evidences we have accumulated in the last 70 years will easily win us a case in any court of law except the American Supreme Court which has refused to deal with any UFO related issues.
For example the statement — there is no evidence that an extraterrestrial presence has contacted or engaged any member of the human race — is an indisputable lie. There are at least 12 documents like the General Twining memo, General Bolender memo, CIA’s Malcolm Chadwell memo, all authenticated and released by the American government under FOIA.
Then there are the UFO encounters with Air Force jets with multiple eye witness and radar accounts like Major Jafari UFO encounter in 1976 over Tehran; UFO encounter in 1980 over Peru; Colonel Halt 1980 UFO encounter near Bentwaters Nuclear Base in Britain; Japanese Air Lines UFO encounter in 1987 over Alaska; and the 1989-90 Belgian F-16 pilots UFO encounters.
Finally, there are the six official scientific studies about UFOs between 1948 and 1999 all providing indisputable evidence that a very advanced ET race, since the 1940s has been engaging the human race.
The first study in 1948 by the American Air Force (Project Grudge) and the very recent French study in 1999 by the 13-member COMETA panel, comprising four generals, police chief of France and space scientists, have concluded that some of these UFO sightings fit the extraterrestrial hypothesis. The French study even criticised the American government for UFO denial and debunking.
The million dollar question is, what makes the White House fib (or who is it protecting) when it knows that it can be defeated both in a court of law and public opinion.
To know the answer to this question, we must travel back 130 years, to the birth of an industry that has ever since defined and decided the fate of every life form on Earth, acts as the foundation of world economy and helps the American government keep all other nations under its control — the oil industry.
