CHENNAI: Ramraj Cotton Company has opened its fourth branch in Chennai near the Chinthamani Signal, Anna Nagar. ‘Thiraiyulaga Markandeyan’ actor Sivakumar inaugurated the branch, and famous cardiologist Dr V Chokkalingam made the first sale. And it was received by K Balasubramani, managing director, Bharani Builders.

K R Nagarajan, the managing director, Ramraj Cotton Company, presided over the function. The inauguration began at 9 am sharp, and the chief guest of the event was welcomed with a flower bouquet and sinkari melam (instrument for almost all Kerala art forms). The showroom was then inaugurated by the actor and other guests as women began to sing Tamil keerthanais followed by lighting of the traditional lamp.

All the guests at the event were felicitated with ponaadai. “I very rarely attend inaugurations like these. If I’m here today, it is because of the people here,” said Sivakumar. MD Nagaraj honoured the first customer of the showroom.
