CHENNAI: The game of cricket is a religion for people in India and it can be literally seen and experienced when all roads are empty and everyone is literally glued to their telivison sets or radio transistors when an important match is going on. But have we ever thought about similarities between cricket and our real life? Maybe not. Because for many of us life is not as thrilling as the game of cricket isn’t it?

Cricket.jpgWell! To begin with, we all know that every spectator, whether in stadium or at home, he or she just loves to watch a six or a boundary. However not all the batsmen have the courage to hit a six or boundary every now and then, because for that one needs extraordinary skills as well as a focused mind. Now, let us take the case of our real life, where we get to see people who are always on the backfoot while leading their lives and  then there are other kinds of people who are always on the front foot and ever ready for life to unfold itself to them. Of both the cases, the former kind of people always end up leading a miserable life because they keep on playing defensive all the time and their strokes are shaky due to which they see every ball of opportunity to make runs as the bowler’s conspiracy to bowl them out thus surviving only on singles and doubles all their lives.

On the other hand, if the same players put greater power of self-belief in their strokes, they might just pleasantly surprise themselves to discover their ability to sweep the ball across the boundary. This can be achieved by having a self-belief that life is a game which has to be played with perpetual enthusiasm in order to cross the hurdles easily. So, let’s be courageous enough and move forward with big shots and wait for life to give you more. But do not loose focus and end up getting out playing a silly shot.
