CHENNAI: Congress MLA S Vijayadharani on Friday got a plum post in Congress - general secretary of the All India Mahila Congress. Janardhan Dwivedi, general secretary, AICC, in a statement from Delhi, said that Congress vice-president and in-charge of Mahila Congress, Rahul Gandhi has appointed Vijayadharani in the new post with immediate effect.
“Rahulji has proved that the Congress party will not let down long-standing and hard-working party people. I am a set example. Truth has prevailed and AICC chairperson Soniaji and Rahulji have recognised my services to the party,” Vijayadharani told Express from Delhi.
Following differences with TNCC president EVKS Elangovan recently, Vijayadharani was removed as TN Mahila Congress president.
