Chennai Man Kills Three of Family Before Killing Self

The incident came to light on relatives broke open into the house as there was no response for the phone calls, police sources said.

CHENNAI: A 35 year old man killed his wife and two children at his house in Govindappa Naicker street near Parrys corner on wednesday night, allegedly depressed over loss in business. Devendra Kumar, an online trader then took his life too leaving behind a suicide note in which he claimed that noone is responsible for his decision.

The incident came to light on Thursday morning after relatives broke open into the house as there was no response for the phone calls, police sources said.

Police rushed to the scene on information and secured the dead bodie lying in a pool of blood.

His wife, Deepthi (30) and children, Surbhi (15) and Manas (10) were found dead with their throats slit.

"We suspect him(devendra kumar) to have poisoned the family members before slitting their throats, killing them," a police officer said.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the man was upset over his heavy loss in the online trading business. The family, along with relatives were living in an African country before they moved here, police sources said.

Police have recovered a suicide note from his house. He had gone to a movie on wednesday night, police said. They suspect him to have commited the murder past midnight.

The bodies were moved to Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital for post mortem.
