Four people died in separate road accidents in the city in the last 24 hours.

CHENNAI: Four people died in separate road accidents in the city in the last 24 hours.

S Bharath (31), of New Street, Mylapore who has a photo studio in the same area, met his friends near Luz on Wednesday night. While returning on his two wheeler, a tempo truck from the opposite direction had a head-on collision wit him, killing him on the spot. His body was taken to Royapettah hospital. A case has been registered and police are looking for the driver. Bharath is survived by his wife and son.

Murugan (36), of Neelankarai was standing on the footboard of an MTC bus (route 29C, Besant Nagar to Perambur). When the bus was near R K Madam, he tripped and fell off the vehicle and suffered head injuries. He was taken to Royapettah government hospital where he died on Thursday morning.

R Maheshwaran (29), of Durai Swami Nagar, was riding his two-wheeler when near SRMC, Porur an MTC bus (route number 554 D) rammed into him, killing him on the spot. His body was taken to Kilpauk Medical College.

Dinesh (24), of Valasaravakkam was riding his motorcycle on Poonamallee-Bangalore highway when a container lorry hit him. He died on the spot and the lorry driver Vignesh (35) was arrested.
