CHENNAI: Ramakrishna Mission Students’ Home was recently conferred with an award for Concentrated Solar Thermal Excellence (CST) on Solar Cooking System by MNRE, Government of India. This was a first of its kind award that was distributed to recognise the notable achievements in the field of CST. The award ceremony is part of the National workshop on CST and Solar Cookers. The Guest of Honor for the ceremony was Piyush Goyal, Hon’ble Ministry of Power, Coal and New & Renewable Energy, Government of India. He handed over the award to Ramakrishna Mission Students Home for the Solar Steam Cooking System — Arun 100 in a function held at Hotel Ashok, New Delhi. The efficiency and other parameters of the Arun100 System installed in the students’ home is monitored and documented every day by the Ministry for the last two and a half years.
