CHENNAI: Unidentified miscreants have damaged 23 buses in three different locations in Tiruvallur district pelting stones on the windshields.

Police said it was the handiwork of two people, who came on a bike and pelted stones at the front windshields of the buses. They targeted buses plying on Ponnamallee, Sriperumbudur and Tiruvallur routes. The Tiruvallur SP has formed a special team to nab the accused. Police examined the CCTV footage and identified the bike used for the act, but the name plate was not clear.

Police are yet to ascertain the motive behind the mischievous act. The jurisdictional Sevvapet, Manavala Nagar and Tiruvallur town police stations received the complaints and registered cases. Calls made to Tiruvallur SP ET Samson went unanswered.
