New president at Rotary Club of Chennai Galaxy

Rotarian Anshul Agarwal was appointed as the 15th President of the Rotary Club of Chennai Galaxy, along with his team of office bearers.

CHENNAI: Rotarian Anshul Agarwal was appointed as the 15th President of the Rotary Club of Chennai Galaxy, along with his team of office bearers. All former and present office bearers were present at the ceremony. Outgoing president Santhanakrishnan welcomed the gathering and expressed his happiness on being a part of the installation ceremony. “I’m extremely happy today to be able to pass on my baton to my incoming successor, Anshul. I am sure that he would raise our club’s flag as high as the himalayas,” he said.  

Speaking about his year-old journey as the president, he compared it to the calm after a storm. “After all the running around, now it’s going to be a period of rest for me,” he added.
Assistant governor Rotarian, Venkatesh, first district governor of the Rotary galaxy district 3230, Srinivasan, outgoing secretary Rajsekaran and new secretary Alex Benjamin were the other members present at the occasion. A runthrough of the year 2016-17 was screened at the event,which documented the activities and achievements of the club during the previous year.

The newly elected president shared his excitement and pride at being awarded this  position. “We shall continue to build a strong club. My journey into rotary started in 2012 and has been going great since,” added Anshul. Talking about his future plans for the betterment of the club, he said that the main agenda of the forthcoming year would be fun and fellowship.
Singer Nithyashree was honored with the Youth Icon Award at the event.
