CHENNAI: Cheered on by their families and armed with oodles of talent, 30 contestants competed in the Talent Round of Mrs Chennai 2017 that was held on Sunday. “It is a pleasure to see so much talent being showcased here. I have been associated with these wonderful ladies for quite some time, they have been working really hard. We are so happy to be able to offer such a platform to them,” said Nishant Shah, vice president, Adgear Media.

After battling it out earlier in the fitness, culinary and digital rounds, the contestants showcased their individual talents to move a step closer to the Mrs Chennai 2017 title. Rukmani Anandan, who gave a glimpse into her daily life through a comic act said, “I had never performed on any stage before this. I am so thankful to the organisers for giving me this opportunity.”

“I was actually down with chicken pox when I auditioned for Mrs Chennai. It has been a long journey ever since,” said Samikcha Chhetri who wooed the audience with her Michael Jackson and Charlie Chaplin dance routine. “There have been days when I thought of giving up, but my husband would motivate me to keep going,” added the mother of a one-year-old. Other contestants showed off their skills in music, drama and even mind reading.

Renowned actress Saakshi Aggarwal, dancer Jayshree Isvar, singer Shanti Suresh and dancer Manoj of MJ studios were the judges for the event. “Women should never consider themselves lesser than anybody; they should always believe in their talents,” said Manoj.
