CHENNAI:A car that was robbed from a driver at Mangadu by a three-member gang in the early hours of Tuesday, was restored to him by afternoon.
“Selvam (34), a cab driver went to Mangadu to pick up a customer. Since the man did not turn up, he was returning to the city. Near Paraniputhur, he stopped to answer nature’s call. But three masked men took away the keys at knife-point and escaped,” said an officer.
Since his phone was in the car, Selvam alerted the control room. Within three hours, police recovered the vehicle on Minjur-Vandalur outer ring road. “The trio ran into the fields and police nabbed one Abdul Hameed. He fell and broke his teeth,” the officer added.
