CHENNAI: C Saffin’s 127 helped Nellai Nadar beat St Bede’s by 28 runs in the semifinals of the Suryoday Serenity Cup U-19 inter-school tournament. In another match played on the same day, B Sai Sudarshan notched up an unbeaten 81 and a four-for to carry Santhome to a five-wicket victory against Vidya Mandir. The losing team was rolled up for 148 in 79.3 overs courtesy Sudarshan’s stellar performance with the ball, before his fifty powered Santhome to a win in 39.5 overs. Semifinals: Nellai Nadar 263 in 62.2 ovs (C Saffin 127, Aadil Shaan 63; L Vetrivel 3/38) bt St Bede’s 235 in 80.1 ovs (Vignesh S Iyer 89, Shubhang Mishra 49, Rithik Easwaran 41; Tharun.S 4/30).
