Razi Healthcare, established by R.F. Chandler in 2009, is focused on developing healthcare solutions as the next building block of human capital. “Our idea was to make an impact. As per our research, India had six doctors per 10,000 people. This doctor to patient ratio is the lowest in the world, and it came as real shock to us. Also, the quality of service provided is abysmal.Furthermore, the assistants to the doctors did not seem to have much knowledge, which caused more harm than providing help. This gave us the idea to come up with a health centre that was quality oriented plus affordable,” explained Dr Shwetank Verma about the concept generation of Razi.
Post the idea generation, the Verma and Dr Snehal Patel were faced with questions regarding the infrastructure, look and design of the clinic. “After a lot of brainstorming, we decided to dedicate 600 sft per clinic. This would include consultancy, minor surgical support and a pharmacy.
The patients would be provided with services of a qualified doctor, qualified pharmacist, and a nurse, making Razi, a one-stop-shop,” added Shwetank, humbly. Currently with 18 operational clinics in the city, Razi does give the feel of a typical and conventional clinic. “Many patients have told me that the minute they walk in, they feel much better because of the pleasant ambience,” added Shwetank, jovially.
According to Shwetank, who is a qualified chartered accountant, people in India suffer from diseases of that of a rich and a poor country.
The Razi team has plans of moving into different parts of the State, and also branch out into different parts of the country in the near future. Shwetank said confidently, “What we are doing is very different. If everything works out as per plans, we will transform the healthcare sector in India.”
