HYDERABAD: Katherine Dhanani took charge as Consul-General at the US Consulate here on Friday. Dhanani who has been a US foreign service officer since 1990 will succeed Cornelis M Keur.
Dhanani served in various positions in US embassies at Georgetown in Guyana, Brazzaville in Republic of Congo, Mexico City, Kinshasa in Democratic Republic of Congo, Lusaka in Zambia and Libreville in Gabon. She was also deputy chief of mission at the US embassy in Harare.
She is a trained economist from the Kenyon College and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. She has also taught economics at the Grinnel College before joining foreign service.
