Bus hits bikes: 3 SSC students, homemaker killed

HYDERABAD: Four persons were killed here on Saturday, when a school bus hit two motorbikes simultaneously. One bike was ridden by three students and the other by a married couple.

One bike was ridden by three students and the other by a married couple.

The woman who was riding pillion died on the spot, her husband has been hospitalised and the three students died on the spot.

 The gruesome accident took place at Lalgadi Malakpet falling within Shamirpet police station limits of Ranga Reddy district.

 Police said the bus belonging to a private school hit two bikes simultaneously resulting in the tragedy. The deceased have been identified as, Y Mahesh, M Naveen, M Madhu and Punyavathi.

Shamirpet inspector Kasi Reddy said that Mahesh, Naveen and Madhu were going on a bike from Aliabad to Jaganguda.

Similarly, Punyavathi(35) and her husband Sriramulu, were on another bike in the same direction.

 “When the driver of a school bus belonging to Saraswathi Vidhyaniketan School tried to overtake another bus, he hit two bikes coming from opposite direction at Lalgadi Malakpet.

 Police said the three students were going to Lalgadi Malakpet to appear for their SSC exams at the local government school.

 All the three students belong to Edraspalli village.

vA case under IPC 304 has been registered against the bus driver who is now in police custody.
