HYDERABAD: The heavily overcast sky on Wednesday evening though brought high expectation of heavy rains, the city witnessed only a drizzle along with heavy winds. Following this, the temperatures across the region have dropped by at least 2 degree celsius, according to  Met  department here.

“Though showers in summer months are common,’’ according to S Venkateswara Rao, of  Hyderabad Met Centre, “it was the upper air cyclonic circulations in Central India, that caused the thunderstorms.  The same weather would prevail on Thursday also,” he said.  Meteorological  Centre at Begumpet airport recorded 1.2mm rainfall on Wednesday evening.  It, however, predicted a maximum temperature of 40 degree celsius on Thursday.
