HYDERABAD: Deserted by his wife a couple of months ago, a gas cylinder delivery boy committed suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling fan as his two children watched at his house in LB Nagar on Thursday night.

T Shiva (25) married Kumari five years ago and the couple have two children, Narasimha (4) and Chinnari (2). The woman deserted her husband two months ago and Shiva lodged a missing complaint with the police.

On Thursday night, Shiva tied a noose around his neck, switched off the fan and hanged himself from the fan.

“His two children saw him hang, ran out of the home and told the neighbours about their father’s suicide attempt. By the time neighbours rushed inside, Shiva had been dead,’’ police said.

LB Nagar police registered a case under Section 174 (suspicious death) of IPC.
