HYDERABAD: A 26-year-old person died after he fell into a water sump located near Bilal Masjid,  Malakpet here.

Police said, three persons were playing cards siting on the terrace of a building. A boy yelled that police were coming to catch them. While they were trying to escape from the place, one of them fell from the building into a water sump and died on the spot. His head bashed against the hard concrete.

The deceased is identified as Syed Ghouse alias Mujju , resident of Bilal Masjid locality, Malakpet. Sub inspector Mohan Rao clarified that there was no raid planned on the place. Around 8.30 p.m on Sunday,  Syed Ghouse and two others were playing cards on the terrace of a building. A prankster yelled that police were coming.

 Even as two others escaped by jumping from the building, Syed Gouse jumped and landed in a water sump and his head was smashed, police said.
