HYDERABAD: Nampally MLA M Virasat Rasool Khan and eight corporators under the jurisdiction of the Nampally Assembly Constituency on Monday complained to Mayor M Majid Hussain that the main reason behind non-completion of works was that contractors were sanctioned 8 to 10 works and requested him to ensure that not more than one or two works were given to a particular contractor of that area.

They also requested the mayor to cancel all pending works after duly giving notices to the contractors. Majid Hussain along with the MLA and  the corporators held a review meeting in regard to the various developmental activities and civic related issues at the GHMC head-office.

While reviewing the situation of sanitation in the constituency, the MLA and the corporators informed the mayor that most of the dumper bins were misplaced and requested replacement. They also complained that in a span of two years no corporator got a single Deepam connection and requested him to do the needful. The mayor said the GHMC area will be getting 15,000 Deepam connections this year and hoped that each corporator gets 150 each. He instructed the officials to update the corporators with UCD activities.

Responding to a query by the MLA,  Additional Commissioner (Planning),  K Dhanunjaya Reddy said that road widening works from Noble Talkies junction to Bhoiguda Kaman were in progress and that cheques were being deposited in the court as there were 51 cases pending.

Corporators and the MLA putforward a proposal for a parking facility at Nampally railway station and Chintal Basthi market.
