HYDERABAD:  A 30-year-old mobile phone shop owner was murdered by his neighbour for reportedly harassing married sister of the latter. The deceased, Mohammed Isaq, was a resident of Imad Nagar in Rajendra Nagar police station limits.

The accused, Mohammed Antik, warned the victim several times not to harass his sister but Isaq remained adamant.

On Sunday evening, when Antik’s sister was alone in her house, Isaq entered the house and began misbehaving with her. She immediately alerted her brothers and they reached the spot when Isaq was present there,’’ said inspector, Rajendranagar, S Jayaram.

Antik, his younger brother, Aqueel, and their friend Jahangir took Isaq to the corner of the street and tried to convince him to stop harassing Antik’s sister.

“During the discussion, Aqueel and Jahangir left the place to bring some of the family members of Isaq. In their absence, Antik picked up a heated argument with Isaq. Isaq threw a boulder at Antik but the latter escaped unhurt. Seeing an axe at a nearby construction site, Antik picked it up and attacked Isaq with it killing him on the spot, the inspector said.

After committing the crime, Antik surrendered to cops who arrested him and booked a case.
