HYDERABAD: The exit of Mufti Shameem Kazmi from Team Anna core committee is a one-off instance and is not related to any communal divide, claimed volunteers of Greater Hyderabad Chapter of Team Anna.

Kazmi quit the committee after being accused of recording the team’s proceedings and passing the same to journalists. “Team Anna is turning anti-Muslim,” he said.

Voicing his opinion on the issue, Sheikh Siddai, a member of the Hyderabad chapter felt the movement was passing through different phases and such allegations were baseless. “I have felt secure in my role here. There is definitely nothing against Muslims.”

B Chandrashekhar, of the Anti-Corruption Enforcement Forum and a key member of the team, explained that volunteers, irrespective of their religion, were a crucial part of Team Anna.

However, he did not rule out disagreements between the members.
