HYDERABAD: The National Institute of Nutrition (NIN) celebrated its foundation day on Thursday by awarding degrees to the first batch of outgoing students of M.Sc Nutrition.
Vice-chancellor of the NTR University of Health Sciences Professor IV Rao presented the degrees and stressed the need for “using food as medicine” in accordance with ancient practices over modern medicine.
Chief guest Lathapriya Kumar, member of the National Commission for Scheduled Castes, termed the act of preparing and consuming food as worship and said, “young nutritionists should educate especially the underprivileged classes about the practice of healthy eating and an exercise regimen.” MVS Annapurna bagged the Biplab K Nandi gold medal for standing first in MSc.
The officials and guests congratulated her over her achievement.
