Two inter students drown in pond

HYDERABAD: Two youngsters, who were part of a nine-member group of Inter students on a picnic to Osmansagar lake, drowned in a pond near the lake on Thursday even as their friends watched help

HYDERABAD: Two youngsters, who were part of a nine-member group of Inter students on a picnic to Osmansagar lake, drowned in a pond near the lake on Thursday even as their friends watched helplessly. According to the Narsingi police, the 9 students of Froebel's Vocational College at Mehdipatnam bunked their classes.

All of them _ Mohd Niamath Ali, Mohd Shakeer, Ilyasuddin, Sarvez, Ahmed, Abdul Ferman, Madassar Siddiqui, Srikanth _ are 2nd year Inter students.

Around 2 pm, the youngsters had their lunch near a 7-foot-deep pond which is away from the lake. One of them, Shakeer, went near the water to wash his hands when he slipped and fell in. Niamath Ali rushed to the pond and held out his hand to Shakeer in a bid to rescue him. But he also fell into the pond and both drowned
