HYDERABAD: An elderly woman and a middle-aged woman ended their lives due to health problems in separate incidents.
A 32-year woman, Y Deva Lakshmi of Pathaipally in Shamirpet died on Sunday while undergoing treatment after she consumed insecticide a few days back.
Police said Lakshmi was suffering from stomach pain during the past few years and took treatment but the pain did not subside.
Unable to bear the pain, she consumed insecticide a few days back and was shifted to Gandhi Hospital for treatment.
Lakshmi died on Sunday while undergoing treatment.
Shamirpet police registered a case and are investigating.
In another incident, a 65- year-old woman jumped into Hussainsagar lake reportedly due to health problems.
Her body was retrieved from the waters on Sunday morning and she was identified as VS Reddy of Himayathnagar.
The woman’s family members told police she was suffering from health problems which might have led her to take the extreme step.
Ramgopalpet police registered a case.
