HYDERABAD: Two persons, who were injured in a road accident on Tuesday, died while undergoing treatment at Gandhi Hospital on Wednesday. According to police, 28yearold Phoolchand, native of Uttar Pradesh and 30yearold Suresh Kumavat, native of Rajasthan, were riding on a bike when a container truck coming from the opposite direction hit them.

The accident took place on Tuesday night near Bowenpally cross roads. Police said the driver of a cargo container truck (HR 38 J 3252) belonging to RD Goel Packers and Movers lost control while negotiating the curve and hit the bike in which the duo were travelling, before turning turtle. Phoolchand and Suresh suffered severe injuries and succumbed while undergoing treatment at Gandhi Hospital on Wednesday.

The duo had come to the city a year ago in search of livelihood and they were working at steel shops in Balanagar. While Phoolchand is survived by his wife and five children, Kumavat leaves behind his wife and two children.

The truck driver was taken into police custody and a case was booked against him under section 304A (causing death by negligence) of the IPC.
