HYDERABAD: Assembly speaker N Manohar has constituted a House Committee under the chairmanship of senior Congress MLA P Kishta Reddy on land allotment issue. The matter was discussed in the house in the last budget session.

The 15member House Committee, with members drawn from various political parties, comprises GV Sheshu, K Veerasiva Reddy, Gottipati Ravi, T Jayaprakash Reddy, R Suryaprakash Rao, K Venkata Ramreddy, Bandaru Satyananda Rao, P Ashok Gajapati Raju, P Keshav, Pocharam Srinivas Reddy, G Mallesh, Akbaruddin Owaisi, J Rangareddy and N Jayaprakash Narayan.

The committee would inquire into land allotments made by the government.

The main opposition TDP had raised the issue of land allotment to Brahmani Steels in Kadapa district in the Assembly and demanded that a House Committee be constituted. Several other opposition parties also supported the demand.
