HYDERABAD: The newsreader of a private Oriya channel hanged himself to death in his house at Vanasthalipuram on Saturday. Unable to perform well in his work and family problems have reportedly forced him to take his life, police said. A native of Siddeshwar in Ganjam district of Odisha, Sabyasachi Patnaik (27), joined the private channel as a news reader 10 months back and was staying at Dwarakamayi Nagar in Vanasthalipuram. He was staying with his colleague, Jeenu Kumar Jena, who also works as an editor-cum-reporter in the same channel, Vanasthalipuram police sub-inspector Y Venkatanarayana said.

Police said Patnaik returned to his room at around 5 p.m on Saturday.

Jeenu Kumar returned home at 8.30 p.m and found him hanging from the ceiling.

Patnaik was shifted to a nearby hospital where he was declared brought dead.

Though police did not find any suicide note, they found some scribblings in his diary in Oriya.
