HYDERABAD: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation is planning to construct two grade separators (flyovers) at Fatehnagar- Bowenpally Junction and Toli Chowki Junction to reduce traffic congestion during peak hours.
The civic body has invited Request for Proposal from consultancy firms for feasibility study and Detailed Project Report for the construction of flyovers.
The GHMC would provide consultants with available reports, data and services and the selected consultant should give analysis and interpretation of all data and undertake other studies to give conclusions and recommendations.
GHMC officials said the corporation will also conduct a traffic study to analyse traffic count at peak hours, pedestrian analysis, traffic growth rate, average annual growth rate, growth rate based on economic indicators, predicted traffic growth rate, lane requirements and other details.
They added that the grade separator is one of the last options for checking traffic situation at junctions. “One cannot plan a grade separator merely on the basis of cost but it depends also on the roads and necessity,” officials added.
