HYDERABAD: An alcoholic man strangled his wife to death over a petty quarrel at Rajendranagar on Sunday. The couple, T Beeraiah and Mallamma, migrated to the city from Mahaboobnagar a couple of years ago and were living at Erraboda village. They have three children— Nandini, Indumati and Nani. According to the Rajendernagar police, Beeraiah was addicted to drinking and always came home in an inebriated condition and quarrel with his wife. On Sunday night too, he came home drunk and picked a fight with his wife. Late in the night, he strangled her to death.
Around 4 am, when the man was about to flee, his eldest daughter Nandini woke up and asked her father where he was going. He told her that he was going out on work and asked her not to disturb her mother. As Mallamma did not wake up till 8 am, Nandini called her aunt, Manemma, who found her dead.
