HYDERABAD: Pulling a truck with ears, typing all the alphabets in just about 4 seconds, city off late has been witnessing a lot of such interesting, yet unique activities. Looks like people have got into a “creating-a-recordfixation”.
From appalling stunts to back flips, the best, the most, the longest, the shortest, the highest and the lowest, India Book of Records, aimed at recognising many more hidden, untapped talents, kick-started with it’s next edition in the city.
The pearl city has been playing host to many such strange and astonishing feats and acts, and about 60 people from the city have already made their place in India Book of Records in 2011.
People willing to fulfill their dreams, can choose a record to break or set and register it online to get a recognition for their talent.
Dr Chintapatla Venkatachary, who has won eight world records for the invention of the script, “Lipi”, also known as the line script, is the chief co-ordinator, South India Book of Records.
Expressing his happiness over being selected, he says, “This is the first time that anybody has been made a coordinator from South.
It is always nice to be recognised this way and it will be my honour to help people recognise their inner talents and give a name to it.” Started as a non-profit organisation by Biswaroop Roy Chowdhury in 2004, the categories at the India Book of Records include, Biggest and Smallest, Collections, Creativity, Education, Endurance, Entertainment, Helping Hands, Human Body, Memory World, Print and Publication, Science and Technology, Strange but True and Young Achievers.
And, If one wishes to get their record verified on spot you can invite a Judge from India Book of Records in your record breaking/making attempt.
“One can also directly register with me.
We will also advice you, on the types of records that can be attempted, take care of the internal application process, provide a certificate on the spot if the record attempt is successful and also 10 additional certificates will be given,” Venkatachary added.
