Controversial film-maker Ram Gopal Varma has announced his next project, which he named as Reddy Garu Poyaru.

The movie is a political satire and inspired from the actual events that occurred in Andhra Pradesh after the sudden demise of former chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy.

In an official release, Varma stated that he was never interested in politics but the intriguing psychology of politicians made him attempt the story.

Also, he was quite inspired by the series of political events that took place in the state post-YSR’s death and hence thought of making a film on the same.

At present, RGV is busy with Department (Hindi) wherein he is portraying Amitabh Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt, Rana Daggubati, Lakshmi Manchu and Madhu Shalini in the lead roles.

The film is in the final leg of shooting and will hit the marquee later this year.

As for Reddy Garu Poyaru, the flick will go on sets in the next year.
