Something that we use only once

But waste it in tonnes, piling it up for months

We tear it, crush it, and crumple it

We write on it, we fight with it

We use so many papers.

By cutting trees, we build sky-scrappers

We misuse nature,

Paving a road to ruin our future!

The hundreds of trees we chop each day,

Thousands of animals we disturb everyday

A bird loses its nest,

Doesn’t know where to adjust and where to rest

It enters our house, just like an unwelcome guest

We try getting rid of it, in disgust treating it

Like a pest.

Because we never understand,

That it has nowhere to go.

All the pain it has to undergo.

Yet, it never complains

Calmly, all of it, it just sustains

From all our cruel actions we ought to refrain.

All the beauty we ought to retain

Paper, it is such a pain

It is the one  responsible for the acid rain

We’re the ones who produce it

We’ve been pretty much insane

Our technology is all in vain

 Its time

That we realize and analyse

Its time that we conserve and consume.

And reusing we better resume

To protect each and every tree.

And let the animals be free.

And keep up their glee

So let’s go on a recycling spree!
