HYDERABAD: Justice Samudrala Govindarajulu directed the DGP to place Tenali deputy superintendent of police YTR Prasad under suspension and to initiate departmental disciplinary enquiry and action against him for violating the constitutional as well as legal provisions.

Dealing with a case between A Chinna, and K Laxmi Satyanarayana and others, the judge found procedural lapses by the DSP in taking action against the accused (K Laxmi Satyanarayana) booked under the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.

He also directed the additional DGP (CID) to register a case against the DSP along with others, if any, who facilitated him in this regard, under appropriate penal sections of law and to investigate into the offence.
