HYDERABAD: Kamal Raheja, brother of Deepak Raheja who was allegedly kidnapped and tortured by local traders in China for money, met principal secretary (NRI cell) Ramana Reddy and sought government’s help in bringing his brother back to India.

Kamal, a trader here, said his younger brother was working in Euro Global Trading Company at Yiwu in China. Its owner, Khalid, fled without clearing huge debts to local traders. They had caught Deepak and his colleague Shyam Sunder Agarval of Mumbai on Dec 14 and tortured them for 20 days demanding Rs 7 crores. Police rescued them and kept them at the police headquarters. But the duo have no money and are can’t even recharge their cell phones there, and apprehend further attacks, Kamal said.
