HYDERABAD: A group of women on Sunday had heated arguments with a detective subinspector attached to the Asifnagar police station for allegedly having an illicit affair with a woman. The incident took place at Jirra locality.

According to sources, the DSI Ishaq had come to the Jirra locality to meet a woman. Tension prevailed when residents cornered the policeman for allegedly having an illicit affair with a local woman. A heated argument took place between the residents and Ishaq when the latter tried to enter the woman's house. After a couple of minutes, locals informed Asifnagar police. Police reached the spot and dispersed the crowd before shifting the DSI to the police station.

The assistant commissioner of police (Asifnagar division), T Nagaraj Kumar said they will take necessary action against the police officer, if found guilty.
